This term we are trialing a new fortnightly report system to parents of Year 9 to 13 students. This will replace our reports that would normally go out once in Term 1 and Term 3. We believe that this regular reporting system will be more meaningful for parents and improve connections between school and whanau which is vital for each student’s ongoing learning and success. 

Our school values of Aspiration, Responsibility and Citizenship underpin all that we do at our school. The start of the year is a perfect time for you to discuss with your child what their aspirations are for this year. At our beginning of the year assemblies we have spoken about everyone wanting to have a better year than before. What goals does your child have for this year?

Toby Hendy, (a past Katikati College Student), has been awarded a Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship which is offered to students who have the power to make a difference in the areas of technology and innovation. 

DreamBig Māori is an online campaign and competition targeting Māori youth to inspire them to realise their potential and fulfill their ideas.

St Peter’s School Cambridge are once again hosting a public presentation by Katie Sleeman, the Education USA Advisor from the US Consulate, to help students and parents get a better understanding of the process of applying to study in the USA.

Congratulations to our House Captains who were chosen at their recent Year 13 Camp.  

Katikati College is holding its annual Swimming Sports this week and Athletic Sports next week.  All welcome.

Tessa Bradley was selected in January to represent the BOP Youth team at a NZ Regional Representative Challenge for Surf Lifesaving. 

Daniel and Sean Nicholson attended the Trans Tasman Athletics Competition in January representing New Zealand in the 11 Year Old Boys’ Team where they had 8 days of blistering heat and lots of fun in Campbelltown, NSW.

It has been a busy time with the rowing season in full swing over the holidays and our Katikati College Rowing Team is off to a flying start.
