With term one now at an end I wish to thank everyone for working together to make the start of the year a successful one.

On Thursday 15 April we held our first Senior Sports Exchange with Rototuna High School. It went off with a bang, the sun was shining and the students were buzzing.

During term one, the UMS students (Y9 &10) took part in overnight camps at Ngatuhoa Lodge, in the Kaimais.

Lower Middle School (Y7 & 8) camps were held at Lakes Ranch, outside of Rotorua.

Unfortunately, the Y7/8 Puke camp was postponed due to the country moving into Alert Level 2 prior to camp.

Congratulations to Olive Armistead Y8 who has been awarded two world records by the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) for a large trout she caught while fishing in the South Island late last year.

On Tuesday 23 March, 46 lucky Upper Middle School (Year 9 &10) girls received free surfing lessons with some of New Zealands' top women surfers.

Congratulations to the following students for their selection as leaders of the Lower Middle School Learning Commons.

This term, our Year 7 students participated in the annual Trademark event.

Alice in Wonderland is this years' school production. It will run from Wednesday 25 August until Saturday 28 August.

Our Cross Country event will be held on Thursday 6 May.

We have Casual - On Call - Teacher Aide positions available. This is to work with supporting students with their learning needs.

Every Thursday morning, weather permitting, a group of students and Teacher Aides head-off to The Plaza.

Adolescence is a time of growth and development, it can be challenging for some.

60 Papamoa College students competed in the BOP Triathlon Championships in Ohope on Tuesday 23 February.

Awhina House works to nurture, support and advocate for homeless women in Tauranga Moana. The year 10 textile class has been busy developing 'bathroom bags' to donate to this great cause.

On Friday 21 May it is the annual Pink Shirt Day!

Tuesday 18 May is a Staff Only Day. The school (including Reception) is closed for instruction on this day.

The Mufti-Day Fundraiser on March 26, raised a whopping $1855.20 for the local Riding For The Disabled Team.

Thanks to Ken Kilkenny and his team of student helpers for organising the annual blood drive, which took place at the College on Thursday 15 April.

Students are expected to attend school every weekday throughout the term, from 8.40 am to 3.10 pm. (Except for a late start of 8.55 am on Thursdays). Student attendance will be recorded throughout the school day. Any absence or lateness to class will be recorded.
