Enrol to Vote

If your son is 17 or older he can register on the Electoral Roll.

Ordinarily, we would host staff from the Electoral Commission to provide information to young men about registering on the electoral roll so that they can vote.  Voting in local body and national elections is a civic duty while being registered on the electoral roll is a legal requirement for those aged 18 and above.  17-year olds are provisionally registered and will be transferred to the Electoral Roll when they turn 18.
