Clash of the Colleges - New Zealand Rural Games

Twelve teams - 48 young men from the PNBHS Young Farmers Club - competed in the Clash of the Colleges at the New Zealand Rural Games in Te Marae o Hine | The Square earlier this term.   The Clash of the Colleges has grown significantly since its inception in 2020 and this year there was tough competition against 48 other teams from schools across the lower North Island - a great way to encourage interest in careers in the primary industries.

Prior to the Clash of the Colleges our students had the opportunity to attend the Agri Futures careers day where information about a range of agricultural training providers and career paths was promoted.

Congratulations to the junior team of Jock Chambers, Rory Watson, Rhys Mitchell and Nicolas Verry, who won the junior competition in the Clash of the Colleges.

It was a great day also for our senior team of Brock Gledhill, Quinn Gledhill, Sam Lahmert and Josh Langridge, who were the inaugural winners of the trophy for the gumboot throw competition.  The trophy was for the team who consistently threw the furthest.
