Travelwise Day

Thank you to everyone who supported our Travelwise Day. It is proof of what we can achieve when we work together. (Photos in the Photo Gallery at the bottom of this newsletter).

Traffic around the school is an ongoing issue and days like Friday are the vision of how we would like things to be every day. Over this term, the Office staff have taken a number of calls from frustrated residents who have their lives impacted by illegal parking and queuing on the roads at pick up and drop off times. The Office staff spend a lot of time responding to calls and emails on the subject. When the people impacted are not satisfied with a response they are passed to me. It wastes hours of time at school that could be spent investing in your child's education and care.

I feel upset when I know that members of our team have to face these calls from frustrated members of our community and days like Friday prove that it doesn't need to happen.

If a member of the public asks you to move when you are parked illegally, it reflects badly on our school if you are rude or ignore them. We are the people they call and we frequently apologise on your behalf.

Please do your part to support our school;

  • Never park illegally around the school

  • Do not queue on Masterton Road or on Browns Bay Road as this blocks the flow of traffic around the school.

Thank you.
