FOTS Beats By Bingo
What a night! Our Beats By Bingo event was a huge success, and it was fantastic to see so many families and staff come together for an evening of fun, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition.
A huge thank you to our amazing FOTS team for all their hard work in organising such a fun event. It couldn't have happened without you! We'd also like to give a massive shout-out to our generous sponsors and all the families who donated items for the raffles and spot prizes. Your support helped make the evening a huge success and raised important funds for our school.
Thanks for making it a night to remember!
(See more photos in Photo Gallery Below).
Parking at School
Please remember that parents should not use the school car park at any time. If you are collecting your child early, you are welcome to use the Drop Off/Pick up Zone until 2.30pm when the signs go out.
There are a few reserved disabled parks and these are reserved for parents who need to collect children by prior arrangement.
School Pool
I am working hard to try and make the school pool available to the community during the holidays. It is a big piece of work.
Last week, I asked for expressions of interest if a pool key was available at a cost of between $200-$225. Only 10 people responded that they would be interested at that cost.
We will continue to work towards opening the pool, but with such a small number of parents prepared to hire a key, it will not make it economically viable. If you missed the notice last week, please register your interest by clicking this link and we will continue to work on a plan.
School Lunches
We have had lots of great feedback about the new school lunches through Mealy. The lunches are affordable and delivered straight to your child's class. This is a daily service. There are great lunch pack options which really take the stress out for parents. I encourage you to have a look at the menu and try out the ordering. It's quick and easy! (See School Notices below for more information).
Parent Volunteers at the School Crossings
A huge thank you to the parents who have been volunteering at our school crossings this year. Their support has been a massive help, allowing our teachers and leaders to focus on other important school duties.
We are looking for more parent volunteers to help with this role. Having a parent at each crossing would give back over 10 hours a week to the school, making a huge difference to what we can deliver for your children.
Morning Duty:
Arrive by 8:20 a.m. to set up signs for 8:30 a.m.
Signs are packed away by 9:00 a.m.
Afternoon Duty:
Arrive by 2:50 p.m. to set up signs for the 3:00 p.m. bell.
Signs are taken in by 3:10 p.m., so you'll be free by 3:15 p.m.
If you can volunteer for even just one session, please email Tanya at tanyas@brownsbay.school.nz.

Mealy – Fresh, Affordable School Lunches
Hi, I’m Melissa Grey – mum of five, with two children at Browns Bay School. I started Mealy to make fresh, healthy, and affordable school lunches easier for families. All meals are prepared fresh each morning in our licensed, registered kitchen.
Instead of using EZLunch/Kindo, we’ve kept ordering in-house. This means no extra platform fees, which helps us keep prices lower for families, while also giving us the flexibility to update menus quickly and keep the process simple.
We’re really excited to have the school’s support as we get Mealy up and running, and we look forward to making lunchtimes easier (and tastier!) for everyone.
Register once at www.mealy.co.nz, then order online in just a few clicks. Lunches are delivered fresh to school, ready for your child at lunchtime.
Mealy delivers lunches on every school day. Order before 9am for same day delivery.
Parents to Check and Label Uniform Items
Can we ask that parents please check your child`s uniform to make sure they have not brought home someone elses uniform by mistake. We are constantly receiving enquiries about missing named uniform. This is also a reminder to please label/name all items of uniform, lunch boxes and drink bottles.
