Principal News

Thank you to the people who responded to the Traffic Survey in the last newsletter. I know that many of you are frustrated about the situation, but you are the solution. Reducing the number of cars around school makes it safer for everyone.

If you use Masterton Road at pick up time you will see some of our wonderful Student Leaders who have been working on signs to remind you of good practices. Please show these students respect by always using the crossings and waiting until you are past the yellow lines before dropping off.

In response to feedback from you, our Student Leaders will also start a system to reward children who cycle and scooter to school.

Next term is a great time to start thinking about new habits. Making one small change will help everyone.

Did you know that you can ride your bike or scooter to school?

You must be a Year 5 or 6 student to be able to ride your bike or scooter to school by yourself.

If you are Year 4 or below you can still ride your bike or scooter but you must be accompanied by a parent.

Year 5 or 6 children wishing to ride to school need to get an application form for a bike or scooter license from the school office.  When it is returned, signed by your parents, you will be issued with a High Viz vest.

All students riding bikes or scooters to school must wear a helmet and a High Viz vest.

Fridge List

This term we sent home a "Fridge List" with important dates and events for the term. If you found that useful please complete this form and we will make a new one for Term 4.

If you prefer to work digitally you can also subscribe to our School Calendar by clicking here.

Thanks to FOTS and all of the Disco Volunteers

If you were one of the many helpers who supported the disco last Friday - thank you so much for your time.

I feel so lucky to work at a school with such a committed group of volunteers. FOTS have made a huge donation to the school for the new Astroturf and those projects would simply not be possible without the hard work of a small group of volunteers.

If your child enjoyed the disco, please consider coming to a FOTS meeting. They are great fun and make a massive difference to our school.

Less than three months till Jingle time!! – Jingle Jars are coming!

Hey Parents!

Can you believe it? Our Jingle fundraiser is less than three months away, and we’re already getting excited! One of the biggest hits every year is, of course, our Jingle Jars, and we need your help to make them as awesome as ever!

In the first few weeks of Term 4, we’ll be sending out all the details on how you can pitch in by donating and filling jars with fun little surprises for the kids. But for now, we just want to give you a heads-up to start setting aside empty jars from home – and remember, keep the lids off once they’re clean!

We’ll share lots of fun ideas soon, so stay tuned. Thanks in advance for helping to make this year’s Jingle the best one yet!

Monster Mash Disco Success
The kids all looked amazing and had a ball at our disco last week.
We wanted to thank all the parent volunteers and teachers for their time and hard work at the disco (loved seeing all the dance moves from not only students but also parents and teachers ;) )

Without parent volunteers we would not be able to host these fun events for the kids, and we are so very thankful for each and every one of you!

School Events

Wig Wednesday

Thank you so much for supporting this cause.  The children looked great and the school raised $1039.00 for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Room 24 and Room 2 Buddy Class 'Kiwi' Games Afternoon

Room 24 and Room 2 had buddy class time on Friday.
They had a ‘kiwi games’ afternoon. (Sack and three legged races!)

ESOL Learning

Our ESOL children have been working hard this term.
Last week they were learning about past, present and future tenses.

Mid-Autumn Festival and Chuseok

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to our Chinese families, and Happy Chuseok to our Korean families this week! Mid-Autumn Festival and Chuseok are a special Thanksgiving time when we spend time being together with our families. Chinese families will often gift and eat Mooncakes, and Korean families will eat Songpyeon.

Room 11 Inquiry Work

These are some marble runs and bubble wands that Rm 11 have made during their Inquiry this term. They shared these with their buddy class.

Winter Netball Results

Well done to all the students who played Winter Netball this year. We had 14 teams competing over 2 different leagues - over 115 students from Years 1-6. So much fun and learning was had by all.

A special mention to the following teams who have been or are going to be recognised at their respective Netball prizegivings:

Year 2 Kiwis - 2nd in Ponga Grade

Year 3 Diamonds - 2nd in B Grade

Year 4 Magic - 3rd in A Grade

Year 6 Team 2- First in Grade 6 NNH

A huge thank you must be given to all of the parents who coached and managed teams over the season. It is impossible to run sports like this in the school without the support of you all.

Y5/6 ESOL End of Term Celebration
Y5/6 ESOL students enjoyed an end of term celebration, eating hot chips and ice cream and enjoying some ‘Kiwi’ games.

ICAS Results and Awards 2024

All results are now available online. Congratulations to all of our students who challenged themselves academically by participating in these exams and especially to these children who have been awarded a Distinction or High Distinction!
