Principal Update

Thank you to everyone for keeping up with school communications. I know there is a lot of information coming your way at this time of the year. We are trying to streamline that as much as possible. The school calendar has been updated on the app, so don’t forget to check that out if you are making plans this year.

This week, I emailed all families who did not open the BBS Newsletter last week. It is heartening to see our readership climbing. We have had over 600 views since sending the newsletter out.

In last week's newsletter we asked you to contact us if you were not able to sign up, or if you had siblings that were not linked. No issues were sent through, which is fantastic. This week, we have added to the Google form to let us know if the second caregiver is having issues signing up. Click here if you need some help.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on the impact of the painting project that was completed over the summer. I agree the classrooms and the hall are looking bright, clean and fresh.

It has been a busy start to the term. We have already completed two professional development days in school and two staff meetings on the new Maths Curriculum, ready to report to you in the middle of the year. The changes in the Curriculum are quite significant and they are placing quite different demands on children. We will communicate these changes later in the year.

Parent / Teacher Conferences

In Week 5, we have Parent/Teacher Conferences where you have the chance to meet your child’s teacher and discuss how they have settled into the year. It is an important part of building a partnership with your child’s teacher and we look forward to seeing you there.

As usual, you can book your child’s interview by visiting the School Interviews website linked here and using the code 7agnr.

Awhi Update

Awhi Update: Being Organised for Learning

Welcome back to Awhi 2026. Your children will be participating in an Awhi lesson each week as part of our Positive Behaviour for Learning programme. The lessons are designed to teach students the skills they need to support their learning and friendships. This week’s lesson focuses on why being organised helps them to learn and progress. Last week, we reminded students about the expectations during break times and why it’s compulsory to wear a hat when outside. It's been wonderful to see so many students role modelling and making excellent choices. It would be wonderful if you could speak with your children about how being organised helps you in your everyday life. Thank you.

School Notices

Road Safety

Pedestrian Crossings
We have two Pedestrian crossings in operation in the morning and afternoon and we ask that you please use them with your children. These crossings are controlled by teachers or Parents with students from Year 6. We ask that you cross when the students call out: CROSS NOW – this means they have looked for traffic, put the barrier arms out and have decided it is safe to cross.

Road Markings

Please remember to obey the road markings (e.g., broken yellow lines mean NO  STOPPING OR PARKING).

Bikes and Scooters

Year 5 and Year 6 children, with a signed ‘Application for Approval to ride a Bicycle/Scooter to School’ licence may ride their bikes or scooters to school without adult supervision. The form is available from the school office.
