BBS Sports Newsletter - T1W3

Cherie Bibbie —

Term 1 is well underway and we are ready for another BBS Sports Update.

Term 1 Sports:

We held the Year 4-6 School Swimming Sports yesterday 20th Feb with over 65 students competing. What a fabulous event with some spectacular swimming on show. Congratulations to everyone who participated. We are in the process of putting together a school swim team from the results. This team will then compete at the Cluster Swim Meet later in March. A huge thank you to those parents who helped at this event. It would not have been possible without you.

We have been able to register 6 Year 3/4 Miniball Teams and 8 Y5/6 Basketball Teams along with 2 Year 5/6 SplashPolo teams. All the best for all the games that start in a few weeks.

If you have a Year 5 or 6 Student who plays tennis for a club and has had experience playing competitive games, and they are interested in being part of our school tennis team - can you please email cherieb@brownsbay.school.nz by the 28th Feb to express an interest in being part of our Cluster Tennis Team.

World Famous in BBS -SWIMMING

Congratulations Oscar - some amazing results.

The Big Little Sponsorship - AA Insurance

We know how important sport is to Kiwi kids. It teaches fair play, and teamwork, builds confidence and keeps them active, but getting the little ones match-ready can be expensive. That’s why this year we’ve made Big Little bigger than ever, so even more schools can play a little freer with a game-changing sports grant.

In partnership with Eden Park, the Big Little Sponsorship encourages communities to nominate local primary schools for the prize, giving a boost to grassroots sport in the process. Running since 2018, the Big Little Sponsorship has seen $98,000 in sports grants awarded to primary schools across Aotearoa.
