2026 Year 5-6 Netball North Harbour

Cherie Bibbie —

Netball North Harbour - Wednesday's Term 2 & 3

Games for all Year 5 & 6 players are held at Netball North Harbour courts, Northcote Road, Northcote on Wednesdays after school.  Experience is not required; however, teams are graded by Netball North Harbour and are played competitively. It is not automatic that children will stay in the same teams as the previous year. PLAYERS WILL BE TRIALLED FOR TEAMS on Friday, 6th March from 7.30am

TIMES

Games are played on Wednesdays and run through Terms 2 & 3 by joining a team, you are committing to both terms of play. The games will be played in rounds. eg; Round 1 -4pm, Round 2- 4.50pm, Round 3 – 5.20pm and Round 4-  6.10pm. (Games run for 45mins.)

Term 2 & Term 3 (6th May- 23rd August*) will consist of 14 weeks of competition. ( * 2nd September save day if required)

Year 6s will play STRAIGHT netball. So your child may play the same position every week all season, or they may play a variety of positions – this will depend on the coach of the team.

Year 5s will all play KIWI ROTATIONAL netball – 4 positions in one game.

Practice times will be notified once the teams and coaches are organised. Days and times will be at the coach's discretion.

FEES/UNIFORMS

The registration fee is $90.00 per player for fees to Netball North Harbour and $20 fee to hire a Netball uniform for the season. All players must be in the correct uniform to play. That is a Browns Bay School Netball uniform and sports shoes. Please be aware that there will also be a cost each week for paying for an umpire $15 per team, unless you have a parent willing to do this for free.

COACHES & UMPIRES

As with most sports, our children participate in, we will need help from keen parents as coaches and umpires.  This is an excellent way of learning the game yourself and helping your children.  So if you have always had a secret desire to blow a whistle or want to share valued tips from your playing days, then we need you or an older sibling.  Experience is not a necessity.  Each team must have a coach and an umpire for them to be registered. (There are no umpires to pay for at the association; however, teams may choose to find and pay for an umpire each week). If you commit to taking a team, there will be a training course held at NNH in May for each coach and umpire – more details will follow to those people

As games are played mid-week you will need to make your own transport arrangements for your child. It will be best to do this once teams have been selected.  I ask that you do not rely on the coaches or umpires for transport.

All players, coaches and supporters are expected to follow the Browns Bay School sports code of conduct found on our school website.
