A team member leaving the nest

Viviana Zanetti —

Celebrating Joshua's journey at the MRCC and wishing him all the best for his future.

Josua's adventure with the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre began on February 28, 2024, when he stepped into his first professional role as an IT assistant. Fresh out of university, he quickly became an integral part of the team, contributing significantly by creating the centre's initial website, installing and troubleshooting staff devices, and providing technical support to various groups and users.

As he reports, throughout his time at the MRCC, Joshua was surrounded by a supportive and encouraging community. His colleagues and the centre's volunteers offered invaluable feedback and guidance, helping him excel in his duties and gain a deeper understanding of workplace operations. This nurturing environment allowed Joshua to develop new skills, particularly in customer service, as he assisted the diverse groups that frequented the centre.

When Joshua's contract ended in August 2024, his dedication to the MRCC did not waver. He continued to volunteer, performing his previous duties and offering general support to the coordinator and administrator. This period of volunteering further honed his skills.

Recently, Joshua's hard work and dedication paid off when he received a job offer from a major telecommunications company in New Zealand for the role of Service Desk Analyst. He attributes this achievement to the invaluable experiences and skills he gained at the MRCC.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Joshua for his incredible work and unwavering support during his time at the MRCC. His dedication and contributions have made a significant impact, and he will be deeply missed. While it is bittersweet to see him go, we are overjoyed for Johsua as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in his career. We have no doubt that he will continue to achieve great things, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Thank you for everything, Joshua!
