Polyfest
Big thank you to all those who have supported the Polyfest Group this year. We had an awesome night with tonnes of support and huge thanks for the generous donations received.
Our Senior Lead Team provided food for every Saturday practice and the messages of encouragement and support received are really appreciated. It is heartening to witness the overall understanding of what it means to our people to be able to embrace and represent their culture.
Last night we managed to nearly pack out the entire auditorium with Aiga and students - it was cool to see many of our students come through and support their own and the group as a whole, and with the Polyfest Festival just around the corner the group took on board all the feedback to further improve on when they perform.
Canterbury Polyfest - Mairehau High School teamed up with Te Aratai College to bring about 80 students to the Canterbury Polyfest event. There were 26 other school attending the spectacular. Polyfest has grown from around 8 schools participating in 2000 to 27 school at this years event. For the first time the team were doing a mix of different cultures - Fijian, Tongan and Samoan.
