Congratulations to Visual Art student Niamh West on winning third place in the Yoobee Colleges ‘Wellington with a Twist’ competition. Her entry was phenomenal and all of the staff at Yoobee were very impressed, especially the Bachelor of Animation tutors.

Niamh’s prize is a free place on one of their school holiday courses.

She is to attend a Digital Illustration course through WGC and has booked a free Digital Painting course to further her skills.  The idea of this competition was to take a Wellington icon and turn it into something else.  Niamh chose the cable car and the beehive, combining these into a fantasy-like scene.  We look forward to seeing her work develop in the years to come, as this is a medium in which she has embraced this year in her 11CDP class.
