Junior Marjory Nicholls Speech Competition

Rebecca Morris —

This competition was held on 12 September. We had 6 entrants speaking about a variety of interesting people. Judges Daisy van Wel and Catherine Bullock, the senior contest winners, commented on the passion of the speakers. They commended their engaging tone, commanding content and creative structure.

The winner of this year's contest was Evie Feltham, who spoke about Elizabeth Hamilton.
Katelyn Sceats came second, speaking about Kathrine Switzer and Petulia Cooper-Woodhouse was awarded third after speaking about Thomas Clarkson.

Other participants were Maya Ando who spoke about Greta Thunberg, Constance Chuffart who spoke about Doctor Megan Coffee and Rosa Crawford who spoke about Abdul Aziz.

The audience was thoroughly engaged and pleased to learn about the lives of people that have shaped our society for the better.
