The SGCNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival is a nationwide festival for students to celebrate and perform Shakespeare excerpts.

Wellington's regional festival was the 11-13 April and WGC had two student directed groups involved. Laura Foster directed an excerpt from Othello and Hritvi Joshi directed King Lear. Janelle Woolley and Aroha Morrison received the award for "Outstanding connection between two actors" for their performance, with Janelle also receiving the direct entry to the SGCNZ National Shakespeare Schools Production. Only one student is chosen per region for direct entry, congratulations Janelle!
