NZ Chinese Language Week (23-27 September)

Liwei Wang —

Chinese Language Week gave us an opportunity to celebrate the language and culture taught at WCG.

At the beginning of the week a group of students (Josie Greenwood, Sophie Engel, Ruby Dalmer, Cerise Mape, Ella Haszard, Sophie Edwards, Mia Jeremic and Alina Hart) attended staff briefing and involved staff in a Chinese cultural quiz.

On Wednesday, the Chinese Confucius Classroom offered dumplings, fortune cookies, crackers and chocolate to the staff for morning tea.  On the same day, our Language Associates set up a food stall at interval selling dumplings to students; they did a good sales job.

Many thanks to all these students.  Their contribution made the NZ Chinese Language Week at school so memorable.
