Year 9 students Anna MacIver and Georgy-Piers Ferguson have been learning highland dancing together since they were 5 years old. During the Term 2 school holidays both girls competed at the biannual New Zealand Highland Dancing Championships in New Plymouth.

A panel of three Judges came from Australia and the USA to adjudicate the event.

With over 100 dancers competing, both Anna and Georgy successfully danced and placed well in almost all of their events and Georgy became Runner-up Premiership Champion for their age-group.

Georgy is travelling to Australia next week to compete at The Internationals – a three day competition where 20 Championships will be held in one weekend!
