We were invited to take part in the Victoria University Mathematics competition over the school holidays. This is a competition involving Maths problem-solving in teams as well as a statistics component.

We were overwhelmed with the response from students keen to enter the competition and had two teams of 10 participating on the day, team 'i' and 'pi'.  The university staff and students had developed an excellent programme and supported our students in their quest for the 'answer'.

One of our teams was commended for their teamwork and were presented with prizes at the end of the day.  What an excellent display of Manaakitanga, as well as Manawaroa, there was a real grit shown in the face of some very puzzling challenges.
