NCEA Results 2020
Congratulations to all of our students who achieved so well last year. Their results were well deserved and they are a tribute to the efforts staff and students made to overcome lockdown. In all of these graphs, we compare our results against national results (all schools) and Decile 8-10 schools.
These results will increase over the next couple of months as students get recounts and pick up other errors in their papers.
Please note that these results reflect every student who was enrolled at WGC in that year group for 70 days or more, regardless of their intention to attempt NCEA. This has an influence on Level 3 results in particular.
The Level 1 pass rate is our best ever and our results are well ahead of national and decile. Endorsements continued to be very high - this year 85.6% of our students received an endorsement, compared with 53.6% nationally and 68.3% for Decile 8-10.
The Level 2 results were also really impressive - and again ahead of those we compare against. This cohort achieved our best ever Excellence Endorsement rate at Level 2 - 42.2% - and the overall endorsements sat at 81.7% against 42.9% (national) and 56.8% (Decile 8-10).
The Level 3 results dropped last year but there were no results that were surprising. The students still achieved at a really high level and endorsement rates were the second highest ever - 71.9% compared with 44.2% (national) and 55.8% (Decile 8-10).
The Scholarship results were also really solid. Scholarships were earned in the following subjects:
