PROSPECTUS 2025

JULIA DAVIDSON —

Kia ora, e te whānau

Our Strategic Plan contains our vision:

Ma te kahukura ka rere te manu, ka rere runga rawa

Adorn the bird with feathers and let it fly, let it soar

And that is how we see the role of our school – equipping your child with the feathers that will enable them to soar in whatever direction they want to head by the time they leave here.

We have a focus on diversity, creativity, student agency and wellbeing and we test all new initiatives in the school against these concepts.

Next year’s Yr 9s will be joining us as we embark on an exciting time in the school’s history. We have had funding approved this year for a significant rebuild of parts of the school, to deal with previous seismic issues. This work should all be completed in the next three years (according to the Minister of Education) so we’re looking forward to once again having a Hall and facilities that better serve our community.

I will be visiting inzone schools and holding 3 online hui this year to give you some information about the school and answer any of your questions prior to our Open morning on Tuesday 17 June. Your child’s school  will have given you this information if you live in zone, or you can contact the enrolments officer for the online link if you live out of zone.  I also encourage you to look at the videos if you want to hear some unedited opinions from our students!

On Open morning we run sessions at 9, 9:45am & 11:45 am. You must book for the session you wish to attend. You will see yr 9 classes in action and be taken around by Yr 12s. Being on site during a  school day will give you the opportunity to go into classes and meet current students who can answer your questions as you walk around and see us warts and all.

I think this is an amazing school, but I am also completely biased and I know that the school has to be the right fit for your child. I look forward to meeting with you in person or online in the coming weeks to help you make a decision that is right for your family.
