Wellington Girls' College —

Football

Following on from the 1st X1 football team's win in the Premier grade, our Junior A football team had a fantastic win over Heretaunga College's 1st X1 football team to win the Division 2 Regional final, winning 5-4 in the penalty shootout, after a 3-3 score at the end of regular time.

Thanks to coach Jimmy and manager Hamish, for looking after such a talented team for the season.

A huge shout out to the WGC 2nd XI football team who reached the season finals. They played incredibly hard in what was a tough match but unfortunately it didn't go WGC's way with KC taking out the Premier 2 competition with a 1-0 win.

The team has had a very successful season and played hard throughout. A huge thanks to coach Matt Donn for his time and dedication in coaching the team and to Tanya Dunlop for managing the team.

Also, we'd like to wish our Year 13 players Annie Dassio, Eva Collier and Ciara Griffin all the best for their future endeavours and life beyond WGC! Well done to all!

Underwater hockey

WGC Gold and WGC Black both won their finals games of the season. WGC Gold took home 1st place in their final against WHS 5-0. WGC Black came in 3rd place for the season after a resounding 8-1 win over Marsden in the 3rd/4th playoff. A fantastic season for both teams!

Well done to our UWH Senior A team for coming second in the season's final against Wellington High School. It was a very tight final! Good luck for Nationals next week in Auckland.

Netball

The Junior A netball have had a brilliant season being promoted into Prem Res 5 after round one and they narrowly lost the final of that grade on Saturday to a very experienced team of women.
Well done team!!

Lacrosse

The WGC Lacrosse team played in the season's final against Queen Margaret. It was a very thrilling game with QM winning by a narrow margin. The team did extremely well by reaching the final and were the most consistent team for turning up every Sunday to play. WGC walked away winning a few awards and some team members got selected to participate in the U18 tournament build up. Well done.
