Yr 9-11s to test a new gamified experience at Te Papa (feat. Māui Tikitiki a Taranga) and be subjects for some filming and photography. Chance to see an innovative intersection of game, theatre and exhibition design, and take part in an exclusive after hours exploration of the Te Taiao exhibition. Thursday 12th Dec 6-8pm. There will be a small koha for participants. Songwriting Workshop

To the Front Pōneke is delighted to announce that we are bringing back the day-long Songwriting Workshop on the 14th of December at Massey University.

Applications are open now for women, trans, intersex, gender-diverse, Takatāpui and queer youth ages 12-18 No experience need - APPLY HERE

The workshop will consist of three sessions hosted by local musicians, Sofia Machray, Sylvan Spring and Laura Hatwell.

  • Noise Making: Try out new ways to make sounds, experimenting with DAW style apps.

  • Music Making: Learn new musical techniques, song structure and how to play with other musicians.

  • Songwriting: Learn how to write melodies and lyrics.

Participants will also spend time in small bands trying out the techniques they have learned and jamming song ideas. The workshop cost $15 with sponsored placements available and runs from 10am-5pm
