BEHAVIOUR GUIDELINES

Wellington Girls' College —

SMT - Anna Simonsen

At Wellington Girls’ College the vision and the values underpin our expectations of learning behaviour. It is the right of every student to learn unhindered by others. Disruptive classroom behaviour is defined as conduct by any student which prevents the class or wānanga teacher from teaching the class as a whole and/or prevents other students from learning.

A student who is disruptive may be referred out of that class using the referral system in the link below. This means the student is directed into another classroom with a learning activity to complete so that the teacher can continue with the lesson. The student must return to “work things out” with the teacher at the end of the period. The teacher must then make a note on Kamar and notify the HOD, Wānanga teacher and the Dean.

If disruptive behaviour occurs three or more times, students will be referred to the SMT.
