International German Language Olympiad
Tara Kendon (13HWNP) was one of two students who recently represented New Zealand at the International German Language Olympiad in Freiburg, Germany.  The students from each of the 74 different countries had been through a thorough selection process at a national level.  During the two weeks they completed individual and group tasks in the competition, and were also kept very busy with a full programme of cultural activities organised by the Goethe Institute.

PAD Scholarship
Charlotte Sinclair (13SCAM) recently returned from 2 months in Germany, which included 4 weeks on a PAD Scholarship, which she won last year. 12 students from around the world, including 3 from New Zealand, were selected to participate. They stayed with host families, experienced school life, and visited a number of important cities.
