On 17 August the WGC Dance Team competed in the Wellington Regional Dance NZ Made Competition. The day at the Lower Hutt Town Hall involved a number of workshops and a performance evening. Our WGC team piece 'JD’s Angels' was choreographed by Georgia Howat and Hannah Bowman (both Year 13) and entered in the Open Team division.

The team did exceptionally well coming away with scores in the 90’s from both judges, and Brie Chin (Year 11) was awarded a Golden Ticket for her dance work throughout the day. 

Golden Tickets give students automatic entry to a competition in November, where students learn 8 pieces of choreography in multiple workshops. They then audition battle their way through elimination rounds until 200 dancers are cut down to 10 winners, who each receive $1,000 towards their dance training.
