Twenty students from Year 12 and Year 13 took up the opportunity to attend a career event run by Wellington Zoo which was aimed at students who have a passion for conservation and sustainability, a love of animals or an interest in the sciences.

Staff from all areas of the zoo spoke about their jobs and career pathway which led to their current role.  WGC students were engaged in conversation with zoo keepers, vets, vet nurses, head nutritionist, PR and marketing and communications just to name a few.

Students then helped nutritionist staff weigh and prepare food for the animals and also went on a behind the scenes look at the NESTS (hospital) operating theatres.
