Introducing your exceptionally talented - WGC Rowing crew
Our squad of 41 athletes are in dominant form. The sport of rowing is always tough, but these girls have got more than what it takes to be competitive in this exceptionally demanding sport. Amongst our current squad we have 17 novice rowers, which speaks highly of the latent potential within a team that has won a large number of significant titles in the last year, amongst them:
- Three WGC rowers selected into the Eights crew to represent New Zealand at the World under 19 Rowing Championships in Paris.
- First place U17 pair at Maadi
- Third place U18 four at Maadi
- Third place U18 pair at Maadi
- First place U17 pair at North Island Secondary School Champs
- First place U18 four at North Island Secondary School Champs
- First place U18 pair at North Island Secondary School Champs
- Wellington region College Rower of the Year Award
- Wellington region College Coach of the Year Award (from across ALL sports codes)
These results are particularly impressive given the relative age of our equipment compared to other NZ secondary schools. We would LOVE to hear from any former WGC Rowers, supporters, or businesses interested in getting involved with our wonderful athletes. We are always looking for sponsorship/support opportunities.
