BLAKE Inspire

Molly Downing was selected from hundreds of applicants to attend the BLAKE Inspire programme in Auckland during the school holidays. 

BLAKE Inspire is a 5 day environmental leadership programme for young New Zealanders, run in partnership by the Ministry for the Environment and the Sir Peter Blake Trust. Throughout the week, Molly worked with scientists, environmental and conservation experts, and business lead

“It was such an amazing opportunity. I learnt so much about biodiversity, climate change, and environmental challenges, and I really developed my leadership skills and knowledge of government policy. My highlight of the week was collecting ocean water samples to learn more about the impact we are making on the marine ecosystem,” says Molly, who is planning to study marine science or environmental sustainability at university.
