2018 Mathematics Success

Throughout the year there have been several opportunities for students to engage with rich mathematical tasks, including Mathswell competitions for Years 9 to 11, The University of Otago Maths Competition, The Victoria University Mathematics Competition, The Australian Mathematics Competition, The Year 9 Problem Solving Certificate and the Year 10 Extension Certificate.

Certificates for the Year 9 Problem Solving Certificate, the University of Otago Maths Competition, the Year 10 Extension Certificate and the Australian Mathematics Competition were presented to students in the Junior Awards Assembly.

The following Year 9 students successfully completed a range of problem solving challenges independently throughout the year, and gained a minimum of 100 points.

This year WGC fielded 60 entrants across all year levels for the challenging Australian Mathematics Competition held in August.
