Reminders:
Sick Leave of more than 5 days requires a medical certificate to be provided to the Human Resources Manager.
Parental Leave - if you are applying for parental leave please fill out the form initially and make a time to discuss this with the Principal as it requires extra paperwork.
For time in lieu (TOIL) 1 day of leave is equivalent to 5 periods regardless of teaching load on that day.
Leave without pay (over 5 days) taken during any school year will have an impact on your Holiday Pay.
On your return to work from unplanned sick leave, all teaching staff must complete the leave form so that your leave file can be updated.
Support Staff:
NZEI Collective agreement for Support Staff can be found here
or the Grounds Staff award can be found here.

In addition to this WGC have the following guidelines for Support Staff:
Policy for Easter Tuesday:
Where Easter Tuesday falls during term time all support staff, including 52 week, term time only (TTO), will take that day as an additional paid school holiday as the school is closed.
Where Easter Tuesday falls in a term break clause 6.3.7 (b) of the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement will apply.
i.e those employees who work 52 weeks and have completed 10 years current service will have a day's annual leave deducted. Those employees who work TTO and have completed 10 years current service will not be paid for that day as they are not paid during the term break.
Policy for mid-term breaks:
When the College is closed for mid-term break all support staff will take the day as an additional paid school holiday.
Guideline for Support Staff working extra hours:
Time off in Lieu will not be offered to Support Staff, with the exception of the Sports staff. Instead all additional hours worked must be infrequent, planned and negotiated with your manager, with final approval by your SMT person, prior to working the additional hours.
Payment for approved additional hours can be requested by submitting a timesheet, found on the 4Staff page, and should be requested within two pay periods.
