Careers & Transition Te Whare Rapuara

Kaye Johnson —

It has been a busy start to the year with organising (and in some cases re-booking) the university liaison information sessions. All of these have been well attended. Still to occur is Massey University on 12 April and University of Auckland on 17 May.

The Flowerpot Pop Up Shop students are currently working extremely hard to get everything organised for this main event on the school calendar. The shop will be open for business as a lead up to Mothers Day in week 1 of Term 2. This year it will be held in the current Careers Department area off the hall foyer.

We are on the move again.  At the end of next week we are shifting to T20 (Tiakiwai) beside the Deans' offices.  Appointments can be made online when we are in our new area.

University Open Days coming up next term for booking flights and accommodation:

  • 27 & 28 May - University of Waikato (Hamilton campus)
  • 29 & 30 May - Dunedin Tertiary Open Day (University of Otago & Polytech)
  • 17 & 18 June - University of Waikato (Tauranga campus)
  • 22 July - Lincoln University

These are fantastic opportunities to see campuses, facilities and accommodation options.

Maria Moran is working in the Senior Management Team as Acting Deputy Principal until 20 September.  Replacing her as Careers Advisor is Rebecca McGuinness.  Rebecca wrote the scholarship references last year and has a wealth of knowledge to offer students.
