Volunteer Opportunity - Ngaio Toy Library

The Ngaio Toy Library is a community run non-profit organisation that
lets families borrow toys, puzzles, and games, the way you'd borrow
books from a regular library. We also operate as a 'stay and play',
meaning families can come enjoy some of the larger toys during the
sessions. Ngaio Toy Library mostly caters to children aged 6 months -
5 years. Toy libraries are great for sustainability and building
community connections :)

We're open to the public every second Saturday at the Ngaio Town Hall
from 9:30am-11:30am, with myself and volunteers working from roughly
9am-12pm. Please note that while staying the whole time would be
helpful, it's not a necessity!

The role involves working alongside myself and our duty members to
scan and put away returns, help with set up and pack down, labelling
of new toys, and for some of our puzzle or larger toys, checking all
pieces have been returned.

This would suit anyone based in or near Ngaio who doesn't play sports
on a Saturday morning - they could be involved for Duke of Edinburgh,
any other rangatahi development program - or just for fun!

As the toy librarian I've been police vetted, I'm also an early
childhood education student and Girl Guide leader, both of which also
require police vetting :) Please let me know if you have any questions
or have girls who might be keen to get involved!
