Mobile phone rules

Julia Davidson —

As from 17 July, students must put their mobile phones in the pockets, screen facing the wall and with the camera pointing downwards, as soon as they come into class. This rule applies in class and in wānanga time. If teachers want them to use their phones at any stage, they will ask them to get their phones from the pockets and put them back afterwards.

In assembly, students must keep their phones in their bags unless told they can get them out. If a student refuses to put their phone in the pocket or if they are caught with a second phone, the phone will be given to Mrs Davidson and parents will need to come in and collect it.
