On Friday, May 25, two Year 13 French students, Katie Piper and Margo Montes de Oca, received a prize for coming third in last year's Moving Words competition, run by Dr Marco Sonzogni, Reader in Translation Studies at the School of Languages and Cultures, VUW. Margo and Katie translated (jointly) into French the screenplay of a short film by Taika Waititi, Two Cars, One Night. The prizegiving ceremony took place during the opening of the NZSTI (NZ Society of Translators and Interpreters) Conference.
