Literacy/Numeracy results

Wellington Girls' College —

We were really delighted with the Yr 10s who sat their first big external assessments in September. They all gave it a really good try and even if they didn’t pass, the experience will have been really useful for them.

The families of the students who didn’t pass have been contacted and we have some courses they can take in Yr 11 which will help them prepare for these tests. We’ll also be allocating some of the 25th hour slots for this work. In some cases additional English language support will also be available - one of the issues with the Numeracy test is the very complex contexts the mathematical problems are couched in, so for some of our second language learners that is a significant factor.

Students can re-sit the tests in May and September next year.
