Note the date. It is just three weeks until Staff Appreciation Morning Tea. It is a long name, but an accurate one! This is our opportunity to show how much we appreciate the great work that the WGC staff do all year, with and for our daughters.

We also run a raffle at the same time, with great prizes to be won by staff and all proceeds going to the school. The staff look forward to the morning tea each year. It is a highlight at what is a very busy time for them.

This event is coordinated by the WGC Parents' Association, but we are a very small group and we are looking to our supporters and the wider parent community to make the event a success again this year.

I'm on board.  What do you need?

There are several ways you can help:

Home Baking
We will need donations of home baking brought to school,

• on the morning of Wednesday 13 November, or
• any time during the school day on Tuesday 12 November.

Sweet or savoury items are all welcome, and should be dropped off at the student office.

We have chosen 13 November because it is a Teacher Only Day, which means that staff can linger a bit longer over their morning tea, without having to rush away.  For many of you, your daughters will not be coming to school that day, but we hope you will still be able to get your contribution to us that morning (or the day before, for items that can be safely stored unrefrigerated until the next day).  Some of the senior girls have exams on that Wednesday morning (Level 1 English students, we are thinking of you!), which should make drop-off fairly straightforward.

Some of our staff have dietary restrictions, so if you are able to contribute something gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan or vegetarian, that would be especially welcome.  Please label accordingly.

Raffle Prizes
We also need donations of raffle prizes.  Chocolates, wine, foodie items, vouchers, books - all of these things are very popular.

Setting up and tidying up
We need some people to help out on the day, either preparing the staffroom or cleaning up afterwards.  If you can give an hour or two of your time between 9:00 and noon, that would be very much appreciated.
