Pink Shirt Day

Anna Simonsen —

Pink Shirt Day was on Friday 20 May. Celebrated in Aotearoa since 2009 Pink Shirt Day is about communities working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness.

To tautoko this message Year 9 and Year 10 students attended a presentation by speaker Cam Calkoen last week. Cam was born with cerebral palsy and has led an inspirational life pushing himself to exceed boundaries and expectations. He spoke to our students about growing up with his disability and his decision to always challenge himself. The students had the opportunity to ask him questions and his message of kindness and inclusiveness was well received.
