Each year our Year 9 students are tasked with creating a design using mathematical shapes. This year, the task was to design a baby mobile.

The winners of the Year 9 Mathematics Measurement Project for 2018 are Kana Shinoda, Evelyn Peacock and Sophia Hastrop.  

The design was first voted for by their core class as being one of the top two designs in the class.  The top two projects for each class were then judged by the entire Mathematics Department at WGC.  Their work was commended for clear mathematical communication and showing excellent working out.  

The students demonstrated great Manaakitanga and Ngākau Pono in how they tackled the project, working well together and successfully meeting deadlines by sharing responsibility.
