The WGC Parents’ Association met two weeks ago to organise some of the exciting events we will be holding this term.

A HOT DRINK THANK YOU

We wanted to thank the staff for a fabulous start to the year and ‘shouted’ each staff member a hot drink from the wonderful Coffix. We were keen to support local and they were extremely grateful for our support.

Term 2 Events:

WINTER SOUP WARMER FOR WGC STAFF

The WGC Parents’ Association is once again organising a hearty soup lunch to show the community’s appreciation for all of the WGC Staff. The staff love this lunch and it is a wonderful time for them to all get together in one space, sharing delicious food.

This lunch will take place on Tuesday 27 June 2023 

HELP REQUIRED

We would love your help, so could you please let us know:

• If you or your child are able to make a crock pot of your favourite soup (making it on the weekend and refrigerating it, is perfect!); or
• If you can help with set-up or tidy-up (an hour or two of your time) between 11am and 2pm on the day of the lunch, Tuesday 27 June.

We promise to look after your crock pot, but if you are able to help in any way please email us on manningclan@xtra.co.nz .We would really love to hear from you.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALE

We will be holding a Second Hand Uniform Sale on Tuesday 13 June.

These sales are our major fundraisers and all of the funds raised go straight back into the school, however we can not run these preloved uniform sales without a good number of volunteers - can you help? WGC students are very welcome and will be emailed a reference for the work they carry out. They can also log their volunteer hours on the Student Volunteer Army App!

We also need 2-3 strong people to help pack the sale stock back into the shipping container at the end of sale day (from 5pm).

Working bee: Thursday 8 June (meet in student reception)

After school 3.30pm - 5.30pm

After work 5.30pm - 7pm

Sale day: Tuesday 13 June (Gym 2) 

Sale set up 1pm to 3pm

Sale session and pack up 3pm to 5.30pm

NEXT WGC PA MEETING

If you would like to attend our next meeting, it will be held on Tuesday 13 June 2023, at 5.30pm. We will be meeting in International House. Please come along if you are interested, we would love to see you. The time commitment is over to you. We have people who are actively involved in our events but we also have others who are happy to be approached occasionally.
