Message from the Principal

Tena koutou katoa. Towards the end of Term 3 last year we heard there was a possibility we would be losing the Tower block, which was opened in 1970, because of the possibility that in a major earthquake the concrete panels on the outside of the structure might fail.

Barbara Bourke (HOD Social Studies 1979 - 2005)

Barbara passed away peacefully on 13 September 2020. She came to WGC in 1979 as a full-of-life young HOD Social Studies, and when she retired in 2005 she was exactly that still; vibrant, energetic, and enthused with the love of learning and teaching.

Alison Underhill

Alison Underhill (nee Holland 1952 - 1953)

Alison passed away on 29 April 2020 at Wairarapa Hospital aged 81 years. She was awarded the Queen's Service Medal in 1997 for her services to the community and in 2015 awarded the Older Person of the Year Award for her huge involvement in the community and charity work.
