At the beginning of this year Sarah moved to Tauranga to pursue a new career as a full-time climber.
Sarah trains with Climbing New Zealand coach Rob Moore at Rocktopia, the national training centre for this newest Olympic sport.
In October she competed at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. On the first day of competition she set a record on the speed wall of 12.72s, shaving off almost half a second from the previous record of 13.14s.
Not only New Zealand's first climber at the Youth Olympic Games, Sarah has also set a New Zealand record on the sport's debut at the 2018 event.
