Cross Country in Ngahere!

Joshua Cairns —

This term in Ngahere we have been lacing up our trainers, warming up our legs and racing off around our scooter track and Memorial garden in preparation for our whole school Cross Country yesterday! (Thursday 16th May). We raced off around our designated path and some of our students were even faster than Matua Josh!

Our Cross Country is an awesome event for our whole school! Our senior students had to do 2-3 laps and our tamariki in Ngahere got to do 1 lap of a shorter course.

This event is also the first time we got to represent our whānau house colours this year. Nepia - Kōwhai (Yellow), Te Kanawa - Whero (Red), Te Puea - Kākariki (Green) and Ngata - Kahurangi (Blue). We were lucky enough to be able to race in our whānau group colours.

Our tamariki were very fast and they did an awesome job on their lap, a good chance for them to burn off their oodles of energy!
