It's All About Pink
Today all we saw was Pink! Pink! Pink! It started in the Staffroom with our annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast where we like thousands of Kiwis around the country gathered to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. Then in came a sea of Pink students all taking part in Pink Shirt Day 2021.
Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying! We have been celebrating Pink Shirt Day at Addington Te Kura Taumatua for a number of years thanks to the legacy of past school leaders. It is great to see that other Kahukura Schools have joined us today in what is a worldwide celebration.
Harakeke led a superb Assembly for our Pink Shirt Day and really highlighted kindness which is one of our Golden Rules. We loved hearing from Whaea Donna as we all know "Kind" is her number one word.
Then there was the Junior disco featured today along with the Senior Disco this evening which will feature in our next newsletter.
Below are some shots from today ... Kindness is spreading sunshine into people's lives regardless of the weather.
