Celebrating Filipino Language and culture.

Every Tuesday afternoon this term, the Addington Te Kura Taumatua Filipino students have a Filipino class. We are celebrating and connecting with our students and families from the Philippines. The Wikang Filipino class focuses on language, but mostly culture, connection and shared experiences surrounded in Filipino culture.

Whaea Sheryn and Ginang Donna (a school parent) did all the work so we could have a Filipino Fest on November 24, 2023 

We had a great time with other Filipino students here in Addington. We have played language games, sang songs and made food, Lumpia Shanghai. One of our favorite times is when we made Filipino food called Lumpia.

Lumpia is a delicious Filipino food and every event in the Philippines they always have that food. Inside of the Lumpia, there is pork and vegetables. We made Lumpia because it was a famous and delicious Filipino food.

At the Filipino Fest we played games and sang a song and danced and also brought some Filipino foods that we wanted to share.
