Introducing Miggy and Reka our the Junior Neighbourhood Support Leaders for 2021

Miggy and Reka will work alongside Elissa Smith who visits the school regularly from Neighbourhood Support. The focus of the programme is that the JNS leaders will present community messages to the school through various projects. The messages may be from NZ Police, Fire and Emergency, environmental or have a community spirit focus.

There is also the opportunity to nominate children for awards when they do something above and beyond what is normally expected of them that benefits other people, animals of the environment (forms are online or through school office).

Neighbourhood Support works in partnership with NZ Police to encourage neighbours to make formal groups that commit to looking out for each other therefore reducing crime and social isolation, because the group is formal, important information from Police and other organisations can be dispersed through communities quickly.
