Jo came to Addington school on Tuesday and visited all of the learning spaces. In Rimu Jo showed our tamariki some of the gear she carries on her bulletproof police vest. This included handcuffs, a baton, a phone and a VHF radio for communicating with – Jo even radioed in one of the police officers to say ‘hello’ to Addington School on her VHF!

Our children were told about ways police help and what the core role of a police officer was - to HELP keep people SAFE from HARM. We had fun solving that word-man game!

It was too wet and rainy to take a look at the police car but we certainly enjoyed Jo’s visit. Rimu students had plenty of questions to ask Jo at the end of her talk and her visit flew by so very quickly.
