Trudy's farewell from Addington Te Kura Taumatua

Katy Craib —

Our principal, our leader, our mentor, our teacher, our friend and our colleague was farewelled on Wednesday by children, staff, whanau and friends.

Children, staff, whanau and friends all gathered on Wednesday to farewell Trudy as she ventures into her new occupation.

We began with a lunchtime concert where Atunes, Jtunes and the Ukes performed songs they had chosen especially for this tribute to Trudy.

Our wonderful kapa haka group, Te Tipuranga then welcomed everyone to the hall with their rousing version of Gloria.

Inside the hall guests were greeted by our Pasifika drummers. We were then presented with a 'This is your Life Trudy', which saw many laughs and tears as we all ventured down memory lane. Beautiful gifts were presented to demonstrate how much we value Trudy and her contributions to our school.

At the afternoon tea (Covid style) we heard many more tributes to Trudy and people shared their stories and thanked her for her contributions to their lives.

We wish Trudy well on her new journey.
