$200 raised for Pink Shirt Day today!
Today people across Aotearoa will come together to take action against bullying and fundraise to support the kaupapa. And with much pride and aroha we have all taken part here at Addington Te Kura Taumatua.
Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying, after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In Aotearoa, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
Thank you to our student leaders, the Brilliant Behaviour team for organising a fantastic assembly and prizes filled with pinkness. This was one of the videos we saw....what a beautiful message about kindness being contagious.
