Friday 5th and Saturday 6th of April saw various schools participate in the Annual Auckland North SGCNZ, University of Otago, Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival. This event is one of many held across the country and we were proud to host this event at AJHS in the PAC.

One of our AJHS students, Liam Prinsloo (8K10) received an award allowing him to attend a week-long workshop at South Seas Film and Television School. Ka mau te wehi, Liam. Awesome work.

Some of our students competed against other teams from various schools. Everyone involved in this Festival enjoyed watching and performing memorable Shakespeare excerpts. Our Judges, Peter Elliott, and Allan Roberts, commented on the high calibre of performers. 

The winning schools overall were awarded to Long Bay College for their 15 minute piece (The Merry Wives of Windsor) and Rangitoto College for their 5 minute piece (King Lear).
