AJHS —

We hope you have had a wonderful week. We have started our school term with a flourishing start, sitting at over 80% student attendance and an abundance of school activity, including our AJHS Year 8 students visiting Albany Senior High School for a sport experience day.

We look forward to seeing our school community and visitors at our Open and Option Evening event this Tuesday 2 August 4.00pm - 7.30pm. I will be welcoming parents at 4pm in our main gymnasium to introduce our evening, so I hope to see you there; otherwise our teachers and I will be available at any time to speak with you. This is the time to come and explore what we offer as a ‘school of opportunities for the emerging adolescent’ over our 4 year programme for Year 7-10 students.

Albany Senior High School (ASHS) is hosting their Open Evening on Thursday 4th following ours. ASHS Senior Leaders will also be in our library this Tuesday evening if you have any questions.

We are happy to announce the 2023 Options Booklets for Year 9 & 10 students are now available here. Please review the content and discuss it with your children.

Belonging to, and being valued in our AJHS school community is our most important goal each day as teachers and school leaders of your tamariki. Our basic human needs of food, shelter and clothing are all vital for us to feel safe, equipped and nourished, but having those special people who encourage you, grow you and enable you to learn every single day is fundamental to development, building self confidence and feeling progression. AJHS provides that unique place for our adolescents’ and we treasure our purpose each and every day.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your ongoing support, and have an enjoyable weekend.

Take care whanau.
